Frequently asked questions

I think I have ADHD but I’ve never received a diagnosis. Can you help?

I can offer insight and evaluation suggestions that can help you receive an accurate diagnosis. My focus is more on treatment of symptoms, than diagnosing.

I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t “stick.” How is your approach different?

This is a common and valid concern. Many traditional talk therapies focus only on the cognitive level. My approach is different because I integrate somatic (body-based) methods like (S.A.F.E.) EMDR. This helps process the root of the issue on a neurological level, not just an intellectual one. It’s often the key to creating lasting change where other methods have fallen short, especially for deep-seated trauma or patterns.

We’re an adoptive family struggling to connect. How do you work with us?

My training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is specifically designed for adoptive and foster families. I work from a place of deep understanding, not judgment. I can support the entire family system—helping parents develop connected parenting strategies and providing a safe space for adoptees to process their unique experiences and identity. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.

How will we know if therapy is actually working?

We will set collaborative goals from the very beginning, so you have a tangible way to measure progress.
